The Circle of Care Respite Home accepts referrals from CYFS social workers on behalf of foster families and other care givers.
Respite care is the provision of short-term, temporary relief to those who are caring for foster children who might otherwise require permanent placement in a facility outside the home.
The Circle of Care Respite Home provides planned, short-term, and time-limited breaks for the caregivers of children with complex needs in order to support and maintain the primary care-giving relationship. Even though foster families take great joy in providing care to their foster children at home, sometimes the physical, emotional, and social consequences for the caregiver can be overwhelming without some support, such as respite. Planned, professional respite provides the much needed temporary break from the often exhausting challenges faced by the family caregiver.
